Well It happened the other day...I finally had to get back in the mechanic end of my passion.
I took about 10 years off and did a few other jobs, but I'm back.So I have decided to keep up a weekly blog of my adventures.....
I haven't had to interview for a job in about 10 years, so I was a little rusty on the proper procedures. My first interview was at a dealership. Everything went smoothly up until I actually meet with the shop foreman . We were discussing my previous job experience's and his phone rang . Well I thought that he would tell them to call him back he was busy, instead... he talked for almost thirty minutes to one of his buddy's. I now know all about a drag race that didn't take place because the car broke. I know about the girl he met at the bar while he was out with his wife. I know that he has the crud and didn't make it to work today. AND I DON"T EVEN KNOW HIS NAME... Well I think this is just some damn rude behavior. I went ahead with my interview and took a piss test. Still thinking that I have a shot at the job, but in reality I don't even think the shop foremen remembered my name.
I went home and the little lady of the house told me that I had another interview at a shop around the corner, so off I went on my second interview. I decided that if this guy got on the phone I would just get in my truck and leave to never look back.
All went well and he actually never let me get a word in while he was telling me all about his business and what he expects from his employees.. So I load my tools up today to start tomorrow. I have a feeling this is gonna be a funny and interesting job.It's in a predominately Spanish neighborhood and I don't speak Spanish, so I probably will have to take a course in Spanish (TEXAS STYLE)...
